Tourist Attaraction of Jaipur

With its ancient monuments, forts and palaces, the marvelous heritage hotels which were once the residences of Maharajas and its beautifully laid out gardens and parks, not to forget its cheerful and welcoming people, Jaipur is truly a tourist's paradise.
Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Jaipur. It is a great example of the Rajputana style of architechture. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the palace is shaped like a pyramid and is a five storied building with a number of small windows and screens with intricate carving. It was built so that the ladies of the royal family could watch the processions on the streets without being seen. Hawa Mahal offers an amazing view of the city of jaipur especially during sunrise.
City Palace
The City Palace is a classic example of Rajput architechture and is located in the heart of the city. A part of the palace today has a collection of arms and ammunition, rare manuscripts, Mughal and Rajasthani miniatures.
Jantar Mantar
Jantar mantar is another famous attraction. It was built in 1718 by Raja Sawai Jai Singh to study the movement of stars. Considered as the largest stone observatory in the world, each instrument in the observatory gives the most accurate readings.
Amber Fort
Built on a hilltop about 11km from Jaipur, Amber Fort offers magnificent views of Jaipur city. The fort is a mix of Mughal and Rajput architechture and is built in red sandstone and white marble.
Earlier known as the Albert Hall, the museum has a large collection of metal work, jewellery, textile and ivory casting. It also has a splendid collection of pottery objects besides many paintings and sculptures.
Sanganer
It is located 11km from Jaipur and is famous for its block printing and craft making techniques. The airport is also here.
